    Fr. Joseph Jenkins

  • The blog header depicts an important and yet mis-understood New Testament scene, Jesus flogging the money-changers out of the temple. I selected it because the faith that gives us consolation can also make us very uncomfortable. Both Divine Mercy and Divine Justice meet in Jesus. Priests are ministers of reconciliation, but never at the cost of truth. In or out of season, we must be courageous in preaching and living out the Gospel of Life. The title of my blog is a play on words, not Flogger Priest but Blogger Priest.

Anything I say will land me in trouble. Pray for our Church and our country.

  1. A wolf in sheeps clothing, to be sure. He’s not the only one. I don’t know if you are safe in publishing my little comment, or any of my comments. Please rest assured that no amount of deception will prevail over the faithful Christians. We may not have much of a voice, but we are everywhere and we are watching.

When I have the time, I want to study Church history to see how the wolf problem was solved, to the extent it was. Our perhaps I should say the serpent problem.

“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. ”

Pray everyone for our faithful priests. Lead us to a faithful confessor so we may confess our sins properly in the sacrament of penance. Meanwhile guide us in the act of contrition. Forgive us our sins.

Jesus, I trust in you. Hail Mary, full of grace, the lord be with thee. Blessed art thou and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

    Amen.

  2. There will come a time when the Faithful Shepherds of the Flock will unite against the weak and corrupt. Paul VI (I think it was) said that the smoke of Satan had entered into the Holy Place. Whoever it was who said it, it was an honest and enlightened statement of truth. What a sorry state of affairs, as we await the return of Christ in all his Terrible Majesty. Paul
